Each senior client is unique; however, they do often share typical concerns.  Many may struggle financially, have health issues, have few or no friends, have family members who are not involved in their daily lives, go hungry, and often they feel lonely, forgotten, left out, or neglected.

 

The hug, handshake, social gatherings, community outings and functions offered through Good News Outreach’s Better Angels Program can help seniors to remain active, alert, and present. When they become a part of the Better Angels Program they are immersed into a community that care.

 

We focus on the whole individual and strive for vibrant, engaged, senior interaction. Our program hones in on six key components for the well-being of our seniors:

Physical – offer light, easy exercises

Spiritual – Bible study and church services

Cognitive – offer exercises to keep the mind sharp and alert

Social – offer community gatherings and social functions to attend

Community Outreach – offer community outings and community functions

Education – offer classes, seminars, and trainings specifically for seniors

 

They have endured and overcame many challenges in their lifetime, they have sowed some of their best years; now it is time to reap. We hope to give back as good as they gave.

The Better Angels Program offers seniors age 55 and older permanent housing for $680 per month. Bags of food are delivered monthly to our seniors to provide them with nutritious meals. In addition to food delivery, nutritional supplements, adult hygiene products — and when possible, reading glasses, and necessary kitchen tools are available at no cost.
